Mark Brandt
Class of 1983
Army, 20+ Years
Entered the delayed entry in 1982 at the beginning of my senior year. July 83 went to basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC. My advance training was at Ft. Eustis, VA, trained as an Aircraft Electrician. First duty station was in Germany. After my tour there I returned for additional training and went to Ft. Hood, TX. Deployed to Desert Shield/ Desert Storm. Went back to Germany for a 2nd tour (3 yrs). Final duty station was Ft. Drum, NY. Moved back to California after discharge (98) and went to work as electrical mechanic on KC-135E and R refuelers. Joined Army Reserve and then transferred to the Air National Guard (2000) as an Electrical/ environmental journeyman. Presently active with the CA ANG.

I enlisted in the Marines before graduation (delayed entry program). A few weeks after graduation (June 1970) I was in boot camp. Went overseas in 71. Came back in 72. Completed my 4 years and got out in 74. I also was in the Army National Guard (1988-89 and 1992-1996) and Air Force Reserve (1989-1992) being activated in 1990 during the first Gulf War and the LA Riots in 1992.
