Served during the Vietnam Era. Completed one tour each in both Germany (Stratcom) at Pirmasens and Viet Nam (101st Airborne Division in 1969) at Camp Eagle near Hue received the Bronze Star and the Army commendation Medals, Later served 2 years at Fort Knox KY with the 194th Armored Brigade. finished the Army as an E-5 then worked at Ft Knox as a Federal Butcher for nearly 10 years.

I miss the lifestyle and being part of something special. But l don't miss being a political pawn by people in Wsshington who never served in uniform.

Left active duty to join the Air National Guard (Arkansas, Missouri, Florida) in Admin and Chaplain Assistant. Transferred to the AF Reserve attached to MacDill AFB and Hurlburt Fld as a Chaplain Assistant. Will retire Feb 2011 with 33 yrs total time.

Joined 7-21-10 as an Infantryman. Went to Airborne School and graduated as a Paratrooper. Joined A CO 1-508 PIR. Deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. Joined C CO 2-124 Infantry at the beginning of 2014. Deployed to Kenya Africa in 2015-16. Joined B TRP 3-54 SFAB in 2018. Currently still serving as a Combat Advisor to train foreign soldiers so our soldiers do not have to fight. He is waiting to deploy again.

Our Dixie M. Hollins High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Dixie M. Hollins High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
