STEPHANIE LYNN (FISH) BINDEWALD

Class of 1998

Stephanie Fish was a 1998 graduate of Dixie High School who decided to bring back the greyhound mascot in her senior year by wearing it to the basketball games. When she went to the University of South Carolina she was in the flag corp for her freshman year then tried out for the mascot, Cocky, and got the job. She was the mascot for the next three years for all of the sporting events. She went to Madison Square Garden with the basketball team and the Outback Bowl with Lou Holtz with the football team for 2 years. Cocky is a beloved mascot who often appreares at social functions, wedding,birthdays and made several appearances at the Governors home. She was chosen to do a commercial for NCAA with other mascots in Los Angeles which was nationally televised and was on ESPN for an interview for the school. When she graduated from USC she couldn't get mascoting out of her blood so she tried out for the NCAA mascot,J.J. Jumper,got the job often appearing at Universities from Boston to California and at the final four in Indianapolis.Stephanie presently is the Events Promotion Director for the Atlanta Green Jackets baseball team which is owned by Cal Ripkin. She lives in Lexington, SC with her husband, Andy, and their 2 dogs and cat.
