Sheri Karsten Klas

Class of 1988

I would like to nominate my friend and classmate, Sheri Karsten Klas. She has proven to many that she is a force to be reckoned with. Back in high school she was kind of a rebel. Many people in our community would not have believed that she has gone on in her life to accomplish so many things and to the heights that she has. After graduating high school she worked in a machine shop, got married, and attended Mesa State College; kind of what most of us did in her own way. However, a few years past and
Sheri went to graduate school at the Univ. of Tennessee and earned her Ph.D. in 2004. She then moved to the D.C. area where she worked on developing vaccines for US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). After a short period in the DC area, she & her husband, Eric, then moved to Bozeman, MT where Sheri is a scientist working on developing new vaccines for a variety of diseases.

I am so very proud of her and her success! It's a privelage to call her a friend!
