He was a news reporter for several years for KNTV in San Jose and later for KOLO in Reno and KXTV in Sacramento. He became the KNTV News Director in 1970. In 1989 he left broadcasting to become the Community Relations Manager at IBM and retired from IBM after 17 years. He and his wife retired and moved to Reno, where he died from complications of surgery.
