Robert E. Danielson

Class of 1949

Bob attended Bemidji for two years then transferred to the University of Minnesota where he was a awarded a Phd. in physics. He joined Princeton University and worked on Project Stratoscope, a balloon borne telescope which photgraphed the sun and later the night skies. He taught astronomy and was promoted to Professor in the Astrophyics Department. He was very active in the early development of the Hubble Space Telescope. He died in 1976 of bone cancer. The wife, Lenore, daugthers Deanna, Debra, Susan and Sandra survive him.
