About Me	I spent the first 26 years of my career as an educator in the Whitfield County Schools. Much to the dismay of Miss Pauline Ogletree and Mr. W. R. Pearson, I began my career as an English teacher. I later became a Guidance Counselor, School Social Worker, and then Director of Personnel. In December of 2001, I had a wonderful opportunity to join the Hall County School System in Gainesville where I now serve as Associate Superintendent. I am entering my 34th year in public education. Both our children graduated from Dalton High School, Richard, Jr. in 1997 and Karen in 1999. They became third generation DHS graduates, following in the footsteps of their grandfather (class of 1929) and their father (class of 1971). Both children also married Dalton High School graduates (Richard to Aharon Junkins – Class of 1997 and Karen to Mark Sutherland – Class of 1995).
