MR. CHRISTOPHER MARTIN TOLIVER- AGE 50, - Of Stone Mountain, Georgia and formerly of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Grady Hospital. Survivor are his loving family, fiancé, Lisa Wallace; daughters, Jazmine Wofford-Toliver, Brea Toliver and Jamereica Toliver, sister, Linda Diane (Larry) Willis; brothers, Abraham Lincoln Toliver, Jr. "Buddy" and William Marvin (Lila) Toliver, all residing in Atlanta, Georgia; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 25, 2012

David Mathew Holcomb, 52, of Willow Park Drive in Dalton, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, in Ellijay from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

David was a retired employee and former president of the Coronet Commercial and Residential Carpet Divisions and a member of Rock Bridge Community Church. We thank God, as the best of men, David showed the strength to love.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, John ‘Brady’ and Rachel Holcomb and James Mathew ‘Matt’ Holcomb of Atlanta and Dale Kenton McClain of Dalton; daughter, Leigh ‘Alyson’ Holcomb of Atlanta; grandsons, David ‘Bray’ Holcomb and Ayden Charles Mills; father and mother, John R. and Dorothy A. Holcomb of Dalton; sisters, Diane Tate and Thurmond Atkins and Anna and Brad Lewis of Dalton; brothers, Joe Tate, Daniel Mark Holcomb of Dalton.

Mr. Joseph M. “Jay” Stewart, Jr., 60, of Dalton, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. “Joe” Stewart, Sr. and Dottie Stewart. Jay is survived by his sons, Joseph D. Stewart and Ben Stewart both of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Jean Stewart Bennett and George Bennett of Atlanta; grandsons, Mason Stewart and Cayden Stewart. At Jay’s request no services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to the Humane Society of N.W. Georgia, P.O. Box 3946, Dalton, Ga. 30719.

DR. LISA MANLY – Born January 23, 1959, claimed the promise of the resurrection on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, surrounded by her family. Lisa was an honor graduate of Dalton High (’77) and a ’81 Cum Laude grad of Vanderbilt University. She earned both a Master’s Degree (’84) and a Ph.D. (’93) from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Lisa was proud to work in the Dalton Public Schools as an Educator, Counselor, and School Psychologist. She retired in June 2008 after 27 years of dedicated service to the students, parents, teachers, and administrators of Dalton.

A lifelong member of First UMC, Lisa was still an active participant of prayer and study groups at the time of her death. She witnessed to her faith and enhanced the congregation in many ways, including teaching in Children’s Sunday School, singing with the Choir, serving on Staff-Parish Relations and Missions groups. Lisa encouraged others to reach for their goals, generously giving of her time and resources to make those dreams a reality. She leaves a legacy of determination, high standards, genuine concern and desire to be of service to others at home and abroad. She was an angel in the lives of many.

Lisa is survived by her parents, Nann and Judson Manly, sisters Diane, Julie, brother Mike and wife Angie, nieces Kathleen, Abby, Maegen, Maggie, and husband Cameron, nephew Mark, dear friend Kathryn, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends and colleagues.

The family will receive visitors at Willis Funeral Home, 2011 M.L.King, Jr. Blvd. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life Worship Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Thornton Ave. at 3:00 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2012, followed by a time of fellowship with the family. The Rev. Dr. Robin Lindsay will officiate.

Appreciation goes to all who have supported Lisa with prayer and for the compassionate care given by Claudia Reyes of Amedysis Home Healthcare and The Staff of Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa’s memory can be made to First UMC, The Dalton Education Foundation, or your favorite charity.

Randy was a wonderful father and husband, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He passed away on his 27th wedding anniversary. He married Debbie Rogers (class of 77). They have two children, Julie (class of 98) and Adam (class of 2002).
