Air Force, 15 Years
August 26 makes 15 years I have been in the US Air Force. In 2001 I fell off of a snow removal truck and injured my back. I had a surgery but it did not fix the problem. Since the accident occured in the line of duty I will probably be getting out of the Air Force in a few months with a medical retirement.
I have been stationed in Alaska twice, Panama, Korea, New Mexico, and Texas. I have been to South West Asia multiple tours and lived in Qatar for a year.
I am a Heavy mobile vehicle mechanic but with promotions I have been stuck in an office doing management stuff for the last 6-7 years.
When I leave here I will probably return to Killeen Tx because we own a home there.
I achieved my associates degree while in the air force but the constant moving and deployments have made the bachelors hard. I haven't given up though and lack 5 classes to get my bachelors in Operations Management.

Leslie Ray Easley
Class of 1957
Navy, 10 Years
I was a Navy Hospital Corpsmanwho served at various Navy Hospitals, Infirmary's, Naval and Marine Corp Air Stations, and One Navy AirCraft Carrier (The USS Cape Esperance CVU88). The final year of Service was with The Third Marine Division, 3rd Med Btln, when the Division first landed in VietNam. I was discharged after being evacuated back to the United States in July of 1965 to The Naval Hospital at Oakland, California for treatment for three months. I was not injured in combat but in a Jeep rollover on the way up a hill to give treatment to several men who were wounded. I was given a Medical Discharge with severance pay and then told that I had the right to seek further treatment from The Veteran's Administrations should I not be able to maintain full time civilian employment. I did work for the next 24 years before becoming unable to work so I was given total disability by The Veteran's Administration. I had planned to make The Navy my life's career but it was not to be.
The highlight of my life was at the 45th Clsss Reunion for the class of 1957 as Mr. (Coach) O'Dell , Colonel, USMC Reserves .pinned several medals on my chest which had been received from the Navy Department 35 years after my discharge. Most of these medals could not have been awarded while I was on temporary active duty for treatment. I graduated from Oklahma State University in 1974 with a Degree of Bachelor of Science. I had not gratuated in 1957 with the Cushing High School in 1957 but earned the equivalent (GED) which met the requirements for my 1968 enrollment at Oklahoma State University. I no longer attend class reunions but
keep all classmates in my daily prayers. Many of
the 1857 classmates who have died were some
of the best friends a person could have. We are
now in the final years of our lives and are very
gratefull for the years we spent at The Cushing
High School. My message to those graduates
who could attend class reunions but do not is
that you may never have more loyal friends so
try to meet with them at least once a year. There
will come a time when you might not be able to
attend such a gathering so do so if you can.
no longer abe to attend class reunions but I am
there in spirit and miss being with those former classmated,
