Class of 1971
Army, 20 Years
I joined the Army on September 26, 1971 and took Basic Training at Fort Leonardwood, MO and Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, GA and was sent to Mannheim, Germany. I was stationed at Fort Hood, TX and Fort Sill, OK. I spent 11 years during 3 tours in Germany and 1.5 years in Izmir, Turkey. Veteran of the Gulf War - U.S. Army retired 1971 - 1991 as a Chief Warrant Officer Two Radar Technician. Bronze Star recipient of Desert Storm retired after 20 years in 1 October 1991.

Served in the Strategic Air Command in Africa, far east, Maine and Travis AFB, California. Assigned to communications for Project Mercury flights of Alan Shepard and Gus Grissom. Became a member of the Air Commandos and set up comunication facilities in Puerto Rico for the Bay of Pigs Invastion of Cuba.

I retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant where I worked on secure communications equipment ( teletypes and computers, voice and data network and cryptographic client devices ) and software for over 17 years and 3 years working with jet engine tracking system for the F15 Eagle fighter.
