Rev. Alalani Hill

Class of 1976

Kahu (Rev.) Alalani Hill was ordained as a Minister in 1981. She graduated CDM in 1976. She attend Corona Del Mar elementary and Lincoln junior high. She was involved with the arts and music department at CDM in the 70�s. She was attending CDM she became �The Bicentennial Queen for the United States of America� and �Miss Spirit of �76). She toured with the Commodores in 1976 after she graduated. She perused modeling and was offered to be with Willamina and Vogue through Bill Cosby but turned it down cause she was called elsewhere. Plus after being a California girl she did not want to move to New York. She then moved overseas and lived in 9 other Countries as a professional singer as well she did her spiritual work. Kim has studied cultural and spiritual practices through out her life since she was 10 living in Corona Del Mar. She was called to Hawaii where she was brought into the Hawaiian Culture. She studied under the greatest Kahuna there who changed her name from Kim Hill to Alalani (the pathway to heaven) Kim then had her name changed legally to devote her Spiritual life through the Hawaiian culture. She became Alalani Astara Hill. She feels blessed to be Kahuna trained in Hawaiian ministry under her Kupuna �Papa� Kahu Kawika Ka�alakea of Maui. Papa was a Kahuna pule, Kahuna la�au lapa�au, Kahuna Ho�opono pono and Hawaiian minister. Papa passed to Alalani the protocols and Hawaiian ways for Blessings, Weddings, Vow Renewals La�au lapa�au (Hawaiian healing), Spiritual counseling, Ceremonies, Baptisms and Funerals etc. Alalani feels humbled to be able to carry on his teachings. She is known globally for her sacred ceremonies.. Kahu Alalani Kahu (Reverenced) is a Deacon in Aloha O Kalani Ministries and is currently under the Spiritual guidance of another Kahuna nui. She also has become a professional photographer. Alalani our Kim of CDM has been on several TV programs A & E, Discovery channel, CBS, NBC, ABC, as well locally in Hawaii and over seas. She was also on the Amazing race which is still airing. People fly her throughout Hawaii and to the mainland US to do there weddings or to do house and business blessings. She has also done funerals in California.
Alalani sends her blessings back to the School and to all students and teachers. She said �I am blessed to have had attended and graduated from CDM. My success in life was definitely molded by my Schooling. The arts department allowed my creative energy to flow and for me to believe in myself enough to grow in life. CDM is a part of who I am and I remember the school in my most precious memories. �God bless Corona Del Mar High School�!!! And kids you can do anything if you believe it enough and devote yourself and your life to it! You don�t know where life will take you but you can believe in where you can take your life.
