Here’s a fun fact: 10 years ago we were in our last semester of high school. Which means…our 10-year reunion is coming up. Following the trend of the classes before us, we will be celebrating our reunion the weekend of Thanksgiving 2017, so be sure to save the date. Because so many of you have told us you plan to attend, we have changed the location to the Tuscany Ballroom at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. They are able to accommodate up to 300 guests for cocktails on a beautiful outdoor terrace and a room large enough for a sit-down dinner and a dance floor. We enjoyed reconnoitering and discussing various venues for our Picnic. We did focus on the Back Bay area since it is the salient feature of our “stompin’ ground”. We enjoyed falling into several spectacular watering holes and beautiful parks. Finally, here is the information: Date and Time: October 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Location: The Picnic Area at the Y at 2300 University Drive, NB; YMCA - http://www.ymcaoc.org/branches/coc.php This is across the street from the Nature Interpretive Center. http://www.ocparks.com/unbic/default.asp?Show=Introduction Just above the Upper Back Bay Board Walk and Trail Head. Available Activities - in addition to picnicking on the grass with tables... basketball, volleyball (sand), bird-watching, jet-watching, kite-flying, and a visit to the Interpretive Center. All Y facilities available with our Guest Pass, including massage rooms, but bring your own gear and towels. Children are welcome but there are no “swing sets” or monkey bars. In our picnic area, there are a few tables and plenty of tree shade, but hats/sun screen would be good idea. Collapsible chairs and tables, or picnic blankets, as you may require. Cost: Please generously contribute to our Donation Jar for the Y Staff and facilities. Food - Everyone bring your own food and drinks and some to share.
