A Grateful Community
Months have past since the arrival of Sgt. Albert D. Ware’s [United States Army] body in Chicago. The Pullman Community, family, and friends are still expressing their love to his mother, father, sister, and three children. A memorial and parade have been planned for Saturday, May 22nd at 11a.m. Sgt. Ware was a motor transport operator for the United States Army and on Friday, December 18, 2009 was killed by an improvised explosive device in Arghandab River Valley, Afghanistan. At the time he was assigned to the 782nd Combat support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC. He was stationed Afghanistan, where he was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Sgt. Ware joined the National Guard in 2003 as he was greatly influenced by the September 11th attack on the U.S. At that time he was assigned to Bravo 1-38 Company, Cadre, First Platoon.
