James Gardner
Class of 1999
Navy, 6 Years
James joined the Navy in 2000were he served as an Intelligence specialist. James was stationed on the USS Essex, home port Sasebo Japan, for 3 years. There he began to hone his skills as an intelligence analyst in a tactical environment. James received various awards, medals and ribbons during his tour of duty on the Essex. His next command was the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Suitland Maryland. James worked as a Pacific command subject matter expert and was then promoted to Watch supervisor. James received various ribbons and medals during his tour of duty at ONI as well. He ended his Naval career there and went on to pursue his dreams in the private sector. James has worked for 4 contracting companies after the military and is still an intelligence analyst. James still resides in Maryland with his wife and three children. He continues to serve our great country out of uniform with the skills that he learn in the Navy.

After refusing to adjust my poor additude during college, I joined the Army for the longest school they offered in computers to avoid any trip overseas. After two years of training, I worked with computer in a van in the middle of a jungle in VietNam. My attitude improved as I realized what was important.
