When I moved down south from Detroit in 1973 Frankue was the first schoolmate to befriend me. Although we had very few classes together after elementary school. We always had a bond of friendship and mutual respect. There was a gap of roughly 10 years when we lost contact, but 1 day while I was taking care of a patient, the gentleman asked me if I knew Frankie Hemmingway and I told him yes. I shared he was one of my closest friends growing up, but I lost contact with he provided me Frankie's number. I went to see him the following weekend and we stayed in touch until his death. I was saddened by his death and I was out of the country and unable to attend his funeral. However, I saw girlfriend a few months later and it warmed my heart when she told me that he had the ultimate respect for me and said that I had proven myself to be a good friend through the years.
