Gilson George Provost, 68, was living at a homeless encampment in a field on Cochrane Circle, where he was found dead May 7, according to authorities.
The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office released Provost's identity this week, after trying to locate his next of kin for more than two weeks after a landscaping crew found him at the north Morgan Hill property.
Provost died of "probable sudden cardiac death," a staff person at the coroner's office said May 26.
Morgan Hill police said when they located the body, in response to a 911 call from the landscapers who found him, that he appeared to have been deceased "for some time."
Provost's body was found in an undeveloped, overgrown field surrounded by a nondescript industrial business park. The field is bound by Cochrane Road, Cochrane Circle and Monterey Road. Some employees at the neighboring businesses said they had seen Provost in the area before he was found dead, according to authorities.
The coroner's office was unable to locate Provost's next of kin.
