About	Shirley Wilkening Downer, age 71, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home. Shirley moved from WaKeeney to Concordia in 1961 with her family and graduated from Concordia High School in 1965. After attending CCCC she married John Downer on August 20, 1966. Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling, reading and spoiling her two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Betty Wilkening. Survivors include her husband, John of the home; son Joel (Shana) Downer of Douglass, KS; brother Steve (Janet) Wilkening of Yukon, OK and grandchildren Wylie and Bailey. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Alzheimer’s Association and American Lung Association. Cochran Funeral Home notes graveside services will be held Friday, March 9th at 11:00am at the Mulvane Cemetery.
