Graduated from Colorado School of Mines and was commissioned as an Engineer Officer in 1985. Following a 3-yr tour in Germany, was stationed at Fort Stewart, GA where I deployed as a Company Commander in a Combat Heavy Engineer Battalion to Desert Shield/Storm. Upon redeployment, was selected to attend advanced civil schooling where I received my Masters of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Following several more engineering and teaching assignments, found myself assigned to Operations Division (G3), Headquarters, Department of the Army in August 2001. Refocused my attention to Homeland Defense and Emergency Management following 9-11 and retired in 2005 with a civilian position in the Operations Directorate (J3), Joint Staff, Pentagon, where I still remain.

After 4 yrs of ROTC at CSU, served as Medical Laboratory Officer for 4 yrs in Great Fall MT. Then attended Uniformed Services University Military Medical School, completed Internal Medicine Residency at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio, and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Went on to serve as Chief of Gastroenterology at Keesler AFB in Biloxi MS, Chief of Gastroenterology at Wilford Hall Medical Center San Antonio and Program Director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at Wilford Hall. Was the Gastroenterology Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General. Was deployed as an Intensive Care physician in Balad Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Retired in 2010 after a wonderful 26 year career.

Still serving after a tour of Active Duty. Currently in the Wy Air National Guard in a Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. Served in Afghanistan and Germany, but completed TDYs in many places. Going to stay as long as I can. I salute everyone who has served before and after. Kevin Franklin, you're the king.
