About	This very special classmate was a teacher for many years before she developed ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and died tragically at the age of 51. She loved to travel and was a wonderful friend. A terrific cook, you were lucky to be invited to any of her Super Bowl, New Year's, or other parties.

I remember Donna - from Lisha Kill and Colonie Central. And while I can not share as eloquently as Michael did about her life, I am happy to read that during her short life she enjoyed travel and held great parties. Yes, I remember you Donna.

I knew she died, but not the tragedy of the cause.
Her bright mind being trapped in a progressively non functioning body must have been hard for her and her family to endure.

In 1950s I remember seeing her dad’s name (who I did not know) on the list of volunteer firemen at the Midway Firehouse, and that she had a younger sister.

Since grade school at Maywood, Donna was always very smart and quiet.
She was especially adept at math, and I am sure she must have been a superb and caring teacher.

Noting that she died at 51 years old, this memory is 24 years belated.
One lives as long as one is remembered.
Here’s to Donna, may her many students remain inspired by her and remember her affectionately.
