Pedal the Cause recognizes Jason Hayden as Volunteer of the Year
ST. LOUIS (April 9, 2015) — Pedal the Cause is pleased to announce that Jason Hayden is the Pedal the Cause Volunteer of the Year.
“We are honored to call Jason a Pedal the Cause volunteer, and we are extremely excited to recognize him for the contributions and service he has provided to our organization,” said Carrie Sweigart, COO of Pedal the Cause.
Pedal the Cause is the premier cycling experience in the region, the pinnacle event of the year, and the driving force behind creating a world without cancer. Pedal the Cause is also the only St. Louis event that gives 100% of participant donations to accelerate lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Jason has been a Pedal the Cause volunteer since 2012 and is a member of the Happy Helpers team — a large team of friends, family, and community members who donate their time and efforts to make Pedal the Cause a success.
“There are a lot of qualities and criteria that qualify someone for this award, but we always come back to the volunteer who most frequently gets mistaken for a staff member, and this past year, that volunteer was Jason Hayden,” said Sweigart. “He is at every event throughout the year and was at Pedal the Cause from sunrise to sunset helping with setup to tear down and everything in between. He has certainly distinguished himself as a leader in the Pedal the Cause community.”
Not only does Hayden plan to volunteer again during the 2015 event season, but he also plans to ride 25 miles at Pedal the Cause, and raise funds for cancer research. Hayden would like to build his team, Happy Helpers, to 40+ members and would like to invite anyone and everyone to join his team as a volunteer, rider or both!
Pedal the Cause is set to take place on Sept. 26 & 27, 2015 at the Chesterfield Amphitheater in Chesterfield, Mo. For information on how to get involved in Pedal the Cause or if you would like to help Hayden’s efforts to help create a world without cancer, visit pedalthecause.org.
