About	Howard Grover Ward, 65, of North Turkey Creek, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late James Britt and Gladys Davis Ward. He was also preceded in death by his sister Helen Dills, and brother, J.D. Ward. Mr. Ward is survived by loving wife, Wanda Jones Ward; son Brandon Ward and fiancé Meredith; siblings, Jimmy Ward, Eddie Ward, and Linda Ward, and special sons, Brandon Morgan and Jesse Swain. Howard retired from UPS after 30 years service and was a veteran of 28 years with the U.S. Army Reserve retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. He was also a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with the Revs. Ricky Wolfe and Norris Wright officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment with military honors will be at 10:00 am Monday July 22, 2013 at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated and accepted or memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church.
