About	Phyllis Darlene Allen Pressley, 71, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. Raised in Asheville, Darlene was one of seven children of the late Clarence and Virginia Mae Buckner Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and her grandson, Kairat Pressley. A graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School, Class of ’72, Darlene owned and operated her own cleaning company for many years. She had attended Hoopers Creek Baptist Church when her health allowed. She loved her church. Darlene could brighten the darkest day with just a smile. She filled every heart with hope and joy, and she never met a stranger. Her love was abundant and knew no bounds. She loved her grandbabies unconditionally and enjoyed singing, walks on the beach, and digging for seashells. She is survived by her husband, Donald Gary Pressley, Sr.; daughter, Amanda Warren (William); sons, Donald Gary Pressley, Jr. (Elizabeth Skye), and Daniel Pressley (Rebecca); sisters, Mary Roper-Whitt and Barbara Ingle; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Buddy Harwood and Pastors Ronald Dotson and Phillip Youngblood will officiate. Burial will then take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hoopers Creek Baptist Church’s Disaster Relief Efforts, 71 Hoopers Creek Church Rd., Fletcher, NC 28732.
