About	Christopher Larry Warren, 62, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. A native of Asheville, Chris was the son of the late Shirley Maney Warren and the late Stoney Larry Warren. Chris graduated from Erwin High School, Class of 1980. Chris was recently employed by Taylor Lawncare and formerly worked for Buncombe County Schools. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. Chris hunted and fished some of the most remote areas of WNC, including hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail. In his relationship with nature, he was an environmental steward and practiced a leave no trace philosophy. In his later years after many trials and tribulations, including caring for both parents as they succumbed to cancer, Chris renewed his relationship with Christ. Chris is survived by his sisters, Kimberly Clark (Doug) and Angela Warren; niece and nephews, Paige Sumner, Sterling Clark and Adam Keeler; and his Aunt, Betty Humphries, and Uncle, Lloyd Warren. The Celebration of Chris’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. Pastor Allen Rash, Trinity Baptist Church, will officiate. Chris’s family wishes to extend their thanks to the medical staffs, churches and friends who have assisted Chris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
