About | Brandon “Bran” Heath Henson, 36, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024. Bran was born in Asheville, NC to Teresa Smith and Gary Henson on July 28, 1987. He attended Clyde A. Erwin High School. He is preceded in death by his “Nanny”, Geraldine Elizabeth Banks Smith. His grandmother; Hattie Louise Henson and his grandfather, William Woodrow Henson. Surviving Bran are his parents Teresa Smith and Gary Henson. His sister, Brooke Bowlin (Dusty) Grandfather, Roy Kermit Smith Jr., Aunts and Uncles, Connie and Dan Smith, Marvin and Yvette Smith. Cousins, Tyler Smith (Halee Ratcliff) Ashleigh Rogers (Jon and Carmen) Erica Shelton (Ryan) and his lifelong friend, who was like a brother, Vinny Alfieri. He leaves behind many other loving relatives and friends. Bran had a big heart, a kind soul and a sarcastic sense of humor. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, cooking, fishing, and his three cats; Ash, Luna, and Onyx. He was artistic and enjoyed drawing. Bran was a great friend who was always making others laugh. Bran loved listening to music and watching funny movies. He was an amazing uncle to his friends' children and his sisters' dogs. Bran will be deeply missed but he is reunited with his Nanny in heaven where they are surely cracking jokes and cooking with each other. For his service, the family encourages all who are attending to wear Steelers colors. The family would like to thank Care Partners Solace Center for their compassionate care for Bran. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Asheville Humane Society at 14 Forever Friend Ln, Asheville, NC 28806 or First Step Farm of WNC at 1513 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC 28715. These organizations represent the love Bran had for animals and plants. A Celebration of life will be held in the Chapel of Asheville Area Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services on May 18th, 2024 at 1pm with Pastor Kelvin Mosely. |
