About	Tonya Marie Holcombe Kelley, 54, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, after a brief illness. Tonya was a daughter of Mary Carol DeBlaker Holcombe Morrison and Hubert Dan Holcombe. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John Wesley and Catharine DeBlaker, and paternal grandparents, Marion J. Holcombe, Jr., and Margaret Holcombe Smith. She became a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church when she was 3 months old and remained a dedicated member her entire life. Tonya was a 1988 graduate of Erwin High School, graduating with honors. She was a recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the North Carolina Paralegal Association, and played clarinet in the Asheville Community Band for over 25 years. In addition to her parents, Tonya is survived by her husband of 23 years, Tim Kelley; sister, Melissa Holcombe; Edward Morrison; niece, Savannah Duckett; nephew, Nathan Duckett; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her family will receive friends at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. The following evening, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Fr. Dean Cesa will celebrate the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Joan of Arc Mortgage Fund, 768 Asbury Rd., Candler, NC 28715, or to the Asheville Community Band Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 17782, Asheville, NC 28816.
