About	Jeffery Darryl Peek, 60, of Asheville, NC passed away unexpectedly at Mission Hospital on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.Jeffery was born December 21, 1962 to the late Rufus Henry Peek and Louisa Ramsey Peek. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Ponder; brothers, Larry Peek, Dennis Peek; and nephew, Joshua Peek.Jeffery attended Erwin High School. He proudly served our country in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. After his time in the military, he was self-employed as a rock mason. Jeffery enjoyed spending time with his brothers, family, and friends. He loved being outside, shooting his guns, and riding his motorcycles. Surviving Jeffery are his brothers, Edward “Red” Peek of Asheville, Robert Peek of Asheville, Dean Peek (Reanee) of Asheville; nephews, Jimmy Ponder (Natalie) of Weaverville, Chris Peek of Weaverville, Jon Peek of Asheville, Andrew Peek of Asheville, Travis Peek of Asheville, Steve Peek of Weaverville; nieces,Tabitha Jones (Nick) of Asheville, Crystal Peek of Asheville, and Elena Peek of Asheville. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 24, 2023 at 1:00PM at Asheville Area Alternative Funeral & Cremation Service with family receiving friends at 12:00PM. Tony Vess will be officiating. Jeffery will be buried at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 12:00PM. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Woodfin Fire Dept, Buncombe County EMS, and Mission Hospitals ER and ICU dept for all of their help and life saving measures given to Jeff during his time of need.
