About	Candler – Brenda Styles Johnson, 70, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Johnson had attended Erwin High School and retired from Evergreen Paper Manufacturing. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time at her residence at Lake Chatuge. She loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Jack and Bobbie Cook Styles, and the wife of the late William Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Kendra Johnson. Surviving are her children: David Calloway and wife Michelle, and Lisa McMinn; stepson, Stacey Johnson; grandchildren: Kelcey McMinn Field, Cole Rivers, and C.J. Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Mason Rivers, Theia Field, and Barrett Field; and brother, Sam Styles. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, July 19 at Woodfin Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Post 891, 626 New Leicester Highway, Asheville, NC 28806. Anders-Rice is assisting Mrs. Johnson’s family with her arrangements.
