About	Alexander - Landon Brown Grindstaff, 58 of Rhymer Rd, Alexander, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017. He was a native of Buncombe Co., a graduate of Erwin High School and Southern Polytechnic State University. Landon was employed by CRANE-Resistoflex of Marion as Senior Product Engineer. Landon loved spending his spare time tinkering in his garage and designing new tools to create a more efficient use of his time while working on VW TDI's. He was such a brilliant man, with a generous heart and loved his family beyond measure. He is survived by his wife, Karen Drake Grindstaff; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Lutz (Cody), of Murfreesboro, TN; a son, Daniel Edward Grindstaff (Brittany), of Asheville; and three grandchildren, Abigail and Eli Grindstaff and Libby Lutz. Additional survivors include his mother, Dot Brown Hawkins (Noel); a sister, Susan Grindstaff Barrett (Rob); and mother-in-law, Mary Jo Drake. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Daniel Grindstaff; and grandparents, Robert and Ruth Grindstaff and Wiley and Kathleen Brown. A celebration of his life will be held on April 4, 2017, at Newfound Baptist Church, where he had been a member. His family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will then take place in the church cemetery. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Jeff Maynard. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
