Jonathan was born October 17, 1979, son of Dr. Lynn Crook and Elsie Westberry Crook of Asheville. He was a 1997 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School and graduated from NC State University, Raleigh, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a concentration in Mechatronics. He was an Eagle Scout. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Westberry Crook; four brothers, Kevin D. Crook (Deborah) and Philip A. Crook, both of Nashville, TN, Jimmy B. Crook (Edie) of Charleston, SC and Douglas W. Crook (Laura) of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Kathryn A. Crook and Martha C. Lail (Adam), both of Asheville, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Dr. Lynn Crook. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ashelawn Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
