About	Pamela “Pam” Jean Penland Harrington, 73, of Leicester passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC. Born November 20, 1947 in Asheville, she was a daughter of the late James Virgil Penland and Claudia Chandler Penland. Pam was an alumnus of Erwin High School, and retired from Southern States in 2013 after 30 years of service. Following her passion for dancing, she was a member of the Mountain Shag Club for over 30 years. Surviving are her husband and soul mate of 24 years, Robert Glenwood Harrington of the home; children, Sherri Snelson and her spouse, Andreas Lim, of New York, NY, and Michael Snelson and his spouse, Jennifer, of Leicester, NC; step-children, Robert Harrington and his spouse, Nancy, of Asheville, NC, John Harrington and his spouse, Kathy, of Bangor, PA, Dean Harrington, and Mark Harrington of North Carolina; siblings, Billie Penland of Leicester, NC, James “Bud” Penland and his spouse, Mimi, of Riverside, CA, and Tom Penland and his spouse, Sherry, of Asheville, NC; and much loved grandchildren, Austin Snelson, Peter Lim, Savannah Lim, Maribeth Bull and her spouse, Nathan, Anna Harrington, Tobias Harrington, and Elizabeth Harrington. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 5, 2021 in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa.
