Anni Weber Wilson, 91, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
A native of Heidelberg, Germany, Anni moved to Asheville in 1948 after marrying her late husband, Herman John Wilson. She was a daughter of the late Anton and Maria Baumeister Weber. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina “Tina” Wilson Carroll, and sister, Inge Weber Dietz.
Mrs. Wilson worked as a foreign language teacher at Erwin High School for many years. She was also a member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence.
Music was very important to Anni. She enjoyed singing and played both the piano and accordion beautifully. She also very much loved flowers and tending to her garden.
She is survived by her daughter, Heidi Taylor; niece and nephews, Doris Bishop; Richard and Linda Dietz and Ronald Dietz; a number of additional generations of nieces and nephews; and many extended family members in Germany.
The graveside service for Mrs. Wilson will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The Very Rev. Roger Arnsparger, VE, will officiate.
