About Coleman Richard 'Rickey' Buckner, 45, a
loving son, husband, father and brother, of
320 Green Valley Road, Leicester,
died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998 as a
result of an accident on his farm.

A native of Madison County, he
was the son of Coleman and Doris
Teague Buckner. He was a life-long
dairy farmer. He was a member of
Newfound Baptist Church and was a
graduate of Erwin High School. He
was a former Asst. Chief of the
Leicester Volunteer Fire Department
and former State President of the
FFA. He was well known in the area
for his support of and participation in
Dairy and Holstein activities.

In addition to his parents, he is
survived by his wife, Janice Martin
Buckner; children, Christy, Julie and
Jeffrey, of the home; two sisters,
Anne Puckridge and Debbie Patton,
of Leicester and he was preceded in
death by a daughter, Laura in 1976.

Services will be 2 pm Thursday in
Newfound Baptist Church conducted
by Rev. Charles Phillips and Rev.
Mark Ball. Interment will follow in
the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from
7 until 9 pm Wednesday at Groce
Funeral Home, where Mr. Buckner
will remain until placed in the church
thirty minutes prior to the service.
At other times the family will be at
the home of his parents.
