She retired in 1985 after we graduated, but continued to teach. The next five years were spent as an adjunct instuctor at Mars Hill College. Then she spent the next six years volunteering in tutoring and reading programs at Weaverville Primary School. |

SHE WAS THE DOMINANT QUEEN OF SPEECH AND DRAMATICS. IN MY SENIOR YEAR 1969, I WAS VSTILL PRETTY SHY AND NOT OUTGOING. SHE HAD ME READ A COMPOSITION BEFORE A CLASS(EVDERYONE DID, PUT ME IN CONTROL OF LIGHTS IN ONE PLAY, GAVE ME A SMALL PART IN THE SECOND, BUT MADE ME ONE OF THE STARS INTHE THIRD PLAY, PUBLICITY MAD. WE DID A BRIEF SKIT ON THE MR BILL SHOW AND WHEN ONE GIRL FORGOT HER LINE I STEPPED IN AND SAID MINE, SAVING (I THOUGHT) THE SKIT, BUT IT WAS A TEAM WIN. WHEN THE CLASS VOTED ON THE BEST ACTORS IN THE CAST DURING THE SENIOR SHOW, I WON THE MALE BEST ACTOR AWARD FOR THE YEAR, I OWE MOST OF THAT OPPORTUNITY TO MRS. WEAVER, THO A TRIP WHEN WE WERE BOWING AT THE END OF THE PLAY THAT LANDED ME IN A LOUNGE CHAIR ALMOST GAVE ME/US A STANDING OVATION HELPED.I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT,ALWAYS. THANKS MRS WEAVER.EDDIE GRAHAM

This fine woman was my Homeroom teacher year12 and Honors English year 12. Tough as nails but, just as sweet! Expected the very best effort from me and forever left her literary imprint upon me! Dot Weaver was The Debater and Macbeth Champion!

I had Mrs Weaver for English my senior year at Erwin. I had always hated English, until I had Mrs Weaver. She had a way of making it interesting, and literature too. She made a good English student out of me. To her credit, not mine. She was an amazing teacher and person. I'll always remember Macbeth. God bless you mrs Weaver.....Gary Jones, 1969
