Robert "DeWayne" Pounders passed away on March 14, 2007. DeWayne was an Eagle Scout with Troop 138 and a 1981 graduate of Erwin High School. He also graduated from AB Tech in 1982 with a degree in diesel mechanics. He had formerly been employed with Silverline Plastics and was a block and brick mason with Adams Collins Builders.
He was survived by his parents, Robert and Anita Dase Pounders; brother, Allen Pounders and wife, Brenda; sister, Renee Pounders Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his companion of ten years and her two children.
DeWayne's graveside service was held at West Memorial Park.
