About Claudette Stapleton Allen passed Sunday, June 20, 2021, at home in Marion, North Carolina. She was seventy-two.

Claudette was born August 13, 1948, to the late Eloise Phillips Stapleton and Hugh Banks Stapleton in Asheville, North Carolina. She grew up in Woodfin, attending Woodfin Elementary and graduating with Erwin High’s Class of 1966. Claudette worked as a presser in the dry cleaning business. She was a member of Sweeten Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Claudette’s spouse, Norman Don Allen, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Vickie Sherlin (Jimmy) of Marion, North Carolina, Donnie Allen (Holly) of East Flat Rock, North Carolina, and Jeffrey Allen of Marion, North Carolina; sister Joyce, and brother Cameron Stapleton (Eugenia) of Weaverville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Alicia Sherlin, Brandon Sherlin (William Phillips), Jordan Allen (fiancée Sarina Wise), Alyssa Allen, Zachary Allen, Kayla Heath (Timothy Heath), Alaina Heath, Lacey Sherlin, Taylor Davis Hershberger and Tyler Douglas Hershberger; cousins Ron Banks, Betty Blanks of Nebo, North Carolina, Betty Marie Lidke (Raymond, deceased) of Candler, North Carolina; nieces Tabitha Leigh Stapleton (Seth Prater) of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Christian Spears (Michael) of South Carolina; and great-niece Madeline Spears.

A service will be held to honor Claudette Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Sweeten Creek Baptist Church (11 Busbee View Road, Asheville, NC 28803). Sam King of Sweeten Creek Baptist Church and Evangelist Ron Dodson of Hot Springs Tennelina Church of God will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Sweeten Creek Baptist Church (11 Busbee View Road, Asheville, NC 28803). Donations can be given directly to the family or to preacher Sam with the church.
