About	Erik Mikel Ward, age forty, died January 11, 2021, at his home in Asheville, North Carolina. Erik was born to Dacie and Dewey Ward on August 20, 1980. Erik spent most of his life in Asheville other than a few years as a resident of Pickens, South Carolina. He was a graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School. He loved learning new things and volunteering his time leading to him receiving an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from A-B Technical Community College and becoming a driver for Meals on Wheels. Erik was friendly to all, including animals. He found much of his sense of love and care from his two dogs, Dixie and Lola. Erik had a kind and caring heart and was known to do whatever was needed for his friends and family. In addition to his parents, Erik is survived by his sister, Missy Honeycutt and her husband Preston of Asheville, North Carolina. He is also survived by his niece Hannah and nephew Levi Honeycutt of Asheville who were his pride and joy and meant the world to him. In memory of Erik, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or to the MS Society. Both were extremely important to him. Along with donations, prayers and kind thoughts are very appreciated for his family. A service will not be held at this time due to COVID-19 precautions.
