Greenville - Earl Craig Riddle, 76, husband of Sandra Grooms Riddle, of Greenville, went to his heavenly home for Christmas on Sunday, December 24, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Earl was born on July 9, 1941 in Madison County, NC to the late Ellard William and Roxie Walker Riddle. He graduated from Erwin High School, Class of 1959.
He retired from Echols Oil Company after over 50 years of service. He was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church, Piedmont, SC. Earl served as an Elder in Presbyterian churches for over 40 years and assisted in planting two churches in Greenville.
In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, he is survived by a daughter, Angela Riddle Day (Buddy); two grandchildren, J. Craig Day (Katie) and Maegan Day Pauley (Daniel); a great grandson, J. Colt Day; two brothers, Elmer and Howard Riddle; a special nephew, Todd Grooms; and 11 nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet Maggie.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Riddle Morgan; two brothers; Troy and Robert Riddle.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Unity Presbyterian Church, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be held in Graceland East Cemetery.
