Jimmie McQueen

Jimmie McQueen

Class of 2002

Jimmie McQueen was a hearing impaired boy who pretty much had to fight to stay in school. Although he was constantly getting suspended and into fights with students and teachers, he also made sure to graduate on time, by getting a 3.5 gpa for the first time ever in his life in his junior year... But to get to that road, before coming back to Clarenceville, Jimmie was kicked out of school in his 10th grade year for the troubles he was causing at another. Now, step forwards to him being in Clarenceville. Being the only hearing impaired boy in the whole high school, he struggle to adapt to the surroundings of all being without any hearing losses. He had to adapt to not having other hearing impaired people around and finding the best way of communications anyway possible. Yes, he had his good days and his bad, but nothing held him back from succeeding in getting 4.0gpas all the way through his senior year, participating in varsity wrestling and varsity football along the way.
He had nothing given to him and fought for to stay in school and be able to succeed. I feel he should be nominated mainly on his will, his courage and his determination to fight to stay in school because after all, his road was quite a bumpy one with constant suspensions and violence.
A poetic justice mind you.
