Robert J. Kinney, 77, a long-time district clerk and business manager in the Clarence school system, died Saturday (Aug. 2, 1997) in Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a lengthy illness.
Kinney was a 1938 graduate of Parker High School in Clarence and a 1941 graduate of the School of Business Administration of the University of Buffalo.
He was an auditor for Bell Aircraft Corp. in Buffalo and Wheatfield from 1941 to 1946. From 1946 until his retirement in 1974, he was school district clerk and business manager for Clarence Central School District.
Kinney was an honorary member of the New York State Association of School Business Officials and a charter member of the Clarence Lions Club. As a member of the Polio Survivors Support Group of Western New York, he was active in supporting research into the later effects of early polio.
