Events	Honsberger, George W. - Of Clarence Center. He was the cherished husband of Barbara C. (nee Webster) for almost 70 years and the beloved father of Gregory G. (Deborah) Honsberger, David A. (Kathy) Honsberger, Julie A. (Andrew) Rasp, and James A. (Annette) Honsberger. George was preceded in death by his parents, Robert N. Honsberger and Imogene K. Honsberger, and his brother Dale R. (the late Norma) Honsberger. He has 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Chapel, 6919 Transit Rd., Swormsville, NY 14051, June 7th at 10:30AM. No prior visitation. Interment at Clarence Centre Cemetery. George was an employee of Continental Can Co. for 39 years, and served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a devoted member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church where he was an Usher, Eucharistic Minister, and belonged to their Bible Study and Rosary Groups. George was a dedicated baseball player and baseball coach for the Town of Clarence for 38 years. He was president of The Erie Niagara Baseball Association for 16 years, is on the Clarence HS Baseball Wall of Fame, and is a member of the Western New York Baseball Hall of Fame. The baseball field in his home town of Clarence Center bears his name-"GEORGE W. HONSBERGER FIELD".
