Age 46, of Boston, Mass. Beloved son of the late Gladys (Johnson) and Raymond Marlier, Jr. Brother of Michael R., Juliet L. and Raymond Marlier. Beloved husband of Ada Focer, father of Ian and Grace.
John was a communications professor and faculty chairman at Emerson College. He had a bachelor's degree from Bucknell University, a master's degree from WVU and a doctorate from Michigan State University.
He died at his home from complications of AIDS, which he contracted during treatment for hemophilia. John was one of the first to undertake home treatment for hemophilia, beginning in the 1950s.
