Danny Brandebura, age 75, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer. Born on July 24, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Danny was known for his strength, humor, and devotion to his family and friends. Danny was the beloved husband of Marie Brandebura and a loving father to Brian Brandebura (Michelle), Brad Brandebura (Stephanie), and Mark Brandebura. He was a proud grandfather to Jackson, Tyler, Madison, Emory, Brooklyn, and Bryce. He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia LaBar; brothers-in-law, Paul Weinman and Jimmy Costanzo; sister-in-law, Debbie Costanzo; nieces, Jennifer Romestan, Jessica Weinman, Angela Rice, and Gina Cox; nephew, Ben LaBar; and multiple cousins and extended family members. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Janet Brandebura, and his sister, Cathy Weinman. Danny spent much of his career working for DuPont’s Underground Mining Division as a sales representative, traveling throughout the mining regions of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland. Having grown up in Rennerdale, Pennsylvania, a place he always held close to his heart, Danny genuinely loved the people, small towns, and scenic mountain drives that became one of his favorite parts of his job. Danny proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and carried that same sense of toughness throughout his life. He lived a proud, humble, and simple life, finding joy in the things that mattered most: family, helping others, Pittsburgh and Penn State sports, and listening to classic rock. He was known for his sense of humor and storytelling, always quick with a joke or prank that could make people laugh. He had a selfless heart and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. One of Danny’s favorite routines was getting up before sunrise to head to the gym, something he loved to remind everyone about when they were starting their days later in the morning. Staying active and keeping moving was simply part of who he was. Above all else, Danny loved his family. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren, whether cheering them on at sporting events or playing with them in the front yard. Those moments brought him his greatest joy and are among the memories his family will hold closest. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Danny’s life with a Catholic Mass at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Green Tree on Wednesday, May 20, at 10:30 AM. There will be no public viewing. Danny’s family would like to thank the caregivers, hospice staff, and all the wonderful friends and loved ones who supported him throughout his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Danny’s memory.
