James Allen Kapinski, age 79, of Canonsburg, PA, passed away on March 30, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Carnegie, PA, on October 22, 1944, to the late Irene and Edward Kapinski. Big Jim was the beloved father of Janet Whipkey and Dr. Jim Kapinski; father-in-law of Vanessa Kapinski; grandfather of Dr. Sarah Whipkey and William Kapinski. Preceded in death by his wife Margaret Kapinski (nee Gambone). James was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He built a career working for over 40 years with Giant Eagle. He had a ready smile for all. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
