Phyllis Van Allsburg Brown, 67, of Richmond, died Tuesday, July 9, 1991 in Richmond City, Virginia . She was born in Charlevoix, Michigan on December 3, 1923, the daughter of Englebert De Witt Van Allsburg and Elsie Emma Carolina Schlieman Van Allsburg. She graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1941. She married James Marvin Brown on June 11, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan.
She is survived by her devoted husband, James; four children, Jill B. Brown, Jeffrey A. Brown, Janet E. Brown, and Daniel J. Brown, all of Richmond; her sister, Marielle Calon of Kansas City, MO; cousins; nieces; and nephews. Remains rest at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. where the family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Private graveside services will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
