Funeral services for Bruce L. Newman, 54, of Charlevoix, were held today at Winchester Funeral Home. Robert Reid of Berean Bible Teaching Center officiated and in- terment was in Brookside Cemetery.
Mr. Newman died Aug. 20, 1983, at Charlevoix Area Hospital.
He was born in Charlevoix on Aug. 21, 1928, and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1946. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict.
Mr. Newman had been employed for 26 years by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission at Detroit and Newberry and for the past 15 years was manager of the Charlevoix branch.
On May 2, 1970, he married the former Shirley Sommerfeldt at Scot-tville. Mr. Newman was a member of the Berean Bible Teaching Center.
In addition to his wife, Mr. New- man is survived by two sons, Daniel and Mark, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Nita Newman of Charevoix; a brother, Warren of Warren; and two sisters, Mrs. Drew (Jean) Young of Charlevoix and Mrs. Marjorie Crain of Traverse City.
