| About | Howard Leo Willard Jr. July 4, 1949 - May 3, 2019 Life Legacy Survived by his four beautiful children and two grandchildren, Howard L. Willard, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home in Palm Coast, Florida on May 3rd, 2019. A onetime cancer survivor, Howard had eventually succumbed to the side effects of his radiation therapy during his second fight with cancer. Refusing to give up, Howard fought every step of the way. Growing up in Trumansburg, NY where he graduated from Charles O. Dickerson High School, Howard represented our great country proudly in Vietnam. Receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, many of his platoon members had viewed him as a war hero where he served with the 101st airborne from 1967 - 1969. He was a car guru who loved watching old westerns. Only hours away from his pilot's license as he was a member of the Coast Guard Axillary. Many remember Howard as the owner of Aunt Mike's Ice cream store where he served some of the best soft serve ice cream around. With all his many accomplishments he was a musician at heart. Most notably writing and producing a hit single with his youngest son Michael, "Daytona Beach Days" which was produced by his record company "Pelican Records". Just months before Howard had passed away, he was able to get his single played on the local radio station in Flagler Beach, Florida. Howard L. Willard Jr. will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. In lieu of flowers and services, Howard had asked that we make contributions to St. Jude cancer research The family of Mr. Willard entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations. |
