Andrew Brown

Class of 1972

With over 20 years of recruiting and screening thousands of candidates for the U.S. Marine Corps, former Master Gunnery Sergeant Andy Brown has become a recognized expert on how to attract, develop, motivate, lead, and retain talent.

Under the leadership of now Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace, Brown developed a unique HR methodology that enabled him to drop his Marine attrition rate 66% lower than the national average, saving millions of dollars in turnover costs. As Technical Advisor for “Semper Fi: Business Leadership the Marine Corps Way”, he is cited as “the best Marine recruiter on the planet”. Brown has been interviewed by several NATO countries as well as Fast Company, who calls him “one of the most successful recruiters for the U.S. Marine Corps.”

Recently retired from the Marine Corps, Brown now teaches business people how to apply Marine Corps principles to successfully address the leadership challenge of acquiring and retaining the few and the proud.
