Spent two years with the CANG in Redding as a 12F. Went active duty after high school. Graduated Sapper School (Class 09-97) shortly after being converted to a Combat Engineer. Did Operation Desert Storm with TF2-34 Armor from Fort Riley. Worked as the Assistant Brigade Engineer for 1st Brigade Combat Team during OIF I/II in Ramadi, Iraq. Retired in 2006.

After joining as enlisted I went to OCS and became and officer. I attended Special Warfare School, Ft. Bragg, NC then Jungle Warefare School in Panama then Vietnam in June 1969. As an Infantry Advisor on a 5 man team, we were assigned to and lived with a Vietnamese RF company. On my return to the US in 1970 and a few citations later, I was a Battery Executive Officer then discharged to join Redding PD. I attained the rank of Captain with the Army. While with Redding PD I did an additional 7 years with the 91st Division a reserve unit.

Zachary Siner joined the US Army in October 2005 at the age of 19.
