Cody Webster To Sign Letter of Intent to Play Football at Purdue
Harrisburg– On Wednesday, February 3, 2010, Cody Webster, a senior at Central Dauphin East High School, will sign his official letter of intent to play football at Purdue University. Cody was recruited for his punting abilities by West Virginia, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Rutgers and Purdue.
During his football career at Central Dauphin East High School, Cody amassed numerous awards for his punting and kicking talents, including but not limited to 1st Team Mid Penn All Conference Punter 2006 – 2010; 1st Team All State Punter 2006-2007 & 2009-2010; 2nd Team All-State Punter 2007 - 2008. Cody shares the title with Lesean McCoy as the only two members to be elected All-State for 3 consecutive years in 4A. Cody was also Big 33 Nominee; 2010 East/West Pennsylvania All Star Team; and the 4 time Team Specialist Award.
Cody currently holds the record at East for the longest punt of 72 yards against Steel-High in November 2009. He is the only football player in East High history to receive a scholarship for football to attend a Big Ten Conference school.
The ceremony will take place in the school’s auditorium at 7:45 a.m. All media outlets are invited to attend.
