Class of 1978
Army, 16 Years
Straight into the service after HS. Went in as a heavy equip mechanic. 1st assignment was 4/68th Armor - Paratrooper 82nd Airborne - Ft Bragg NC. Went to Camp Pelham Korea up near the DMZ with the 2nd Engineer Bridge company for 1 year. Then to Ft Hood Texas with the 3/68th Air Defense - 1st Cav Division for 4 years. Then on to Augsburg Germany with the 17th Field Artillery for another 3 years. Then to Ft Sill Ok when the Field Artillery relocated there after Saudi. Spent about a year there - then back to 2nd Engineer in Korea. Sent back to Ft Bragg for medical evaluation on my back. Took an early retirement in 94 with just over 16 years in.

During my 8 years of Army service I was stationed At Walter Reed Army Med Ctr, where i met my husband. Worked there at Pharmacy Tech. Left WRAMC and went to nursing school in San Antonio, Texas. Upon completion was sent to Ft Devens Mass, where i was deployed to operation desert hope in Mogadishu, Somalia in Africa. Learned alot of OJT in the ICU.
